Volunteer and Group Visits

Travel with purpose. Leave with more than memories.

Travel with purpose. Leave with more than memories.
We partner directly with schools, health workers, environmental groups, youth organisations, sports academies, and women’s initiatives — so no matter your background or skill set, we’ll find ways for you to get involved.

At the Gunjur Project, we bring professional backgrounds in youth and social care and over 20 years of experience hosting successful group programmes in The Gambia. Every visit is carefully risk-assessed and organised in partnership with our community stakeholders, ensuring that placements are safe, sustainable, and beneficial for everyone involved. We can also provide comprehensive risk assessments and leaders’ handbooks to help you plan and prepare your visit with confidence.

Opportunities range from helping in classrooms and supporting after-school clubs to working in community gardens, contributing to environmental research, or sharing your own skills through workshops.

With over 20 years’ experience organising visits for groups, families, volunteers, and professionals, we are specialists in group stays.

Whether you’re travelling alone, with friends, or as part of an organisation, we can create tailored programmes to meet your goals.

Volunteer placements can be as flexible as you need them to be — from just a few hours during your holiday to a fully structured placement with project goals, accommodation, and local integration.

However you contribute, we guarantee your time here will be welcomed and will support positive community action.
